I finished reading ‘Kafka on the Shore’ and what a read it was! Intriguingly captivating, it left me almost breathless with excitement. The search for his roots takes Kafka to the edge of the world, where time dissolves into nothingness, memories lose their meaning and impressions of the ‘now’ are the strongest. Throughout the book, I paused while reading as many sentences spoke of the wisdom of life. It’s engrossing until the last sentence. Many parallel story lines mingle with the main theme like tributaries of a river. Characters and situations take you through a philosophical journey.
The amazing description of the forest as a living entity adds a mystic dimension to the story and the quest. Parallel worlds create ripples and the concentric circles thus born weave interesting tales. It’s a book I will always remember and would recommend to all.
